Madison Youth Racing Team
Our Madison Youth Racing Team is back this summer for our returning racers, new racers who attended a regatta through our Green Fleet program or others with prior racing experience. This concentrated racing program groups our racers together for two 2-week camps throughout the summer and prepares them for 2-3 events.
All regattas will be supported by MYSF coaches, but require parental/guardian attendance and support. Coaches will provide on and off the water coaching and regatta support. Parent/Guardian volunteers will assist coaches in boat transportation and other means of support throughout the season.
Racers are welcome to come to as many regattas as they wish. Regatta Event Registration and Registration Fee is to be completed separately once the event information has been posted. More information to come. If you do not own a personal Opti, a Boat Charter Fee ($25/event) will be applied for each regatta, this does not apply to camp. MYSF will provide the boat and all other necessary equipment.
Recommended Ages: 8-14

Optimist Boat Charter
The boat charter fee will go to support the long-term health of our fleets, including providing competitive racing boats for MYS sailors for years to come. If you have your own Optimist dinghy, you do not need to sign-up for a boat charter. Coaching will be provided for all attendees, regardless of charter status. If you are interested in purchasing your own Optimist dinghy, please reach out and we'll help guide you through the local market (used, new, etc.).
